MA5-15462 targets CD44 in indirect ELISA, FACS, IF, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with human and mouse samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human CD44 (amino acids 628–699) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15462 detects CD44 with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 82 kDa.

Target Information

CD44 is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein widely expressed on human leukocytes, white matter of the brain, and some epithelial cells of the intestine and breast.
Several isoforms exist, including the predominant CD44H isoform found in many normal tissues.
CD44 acts as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and is involved in cell-cell interactions, adhesion, and migration.
It participates in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing. Expression may be up-regulated in carcinomas, potentially related to metastatic potential.
CD44 is expressed by hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, epithelial tissues, and filopodia in cultured keratinocytes.
Bone marrow myeloid cells and memory T cells express high levels, and peripheral B and T cells can upregulate CD44 in response to stimulation.
Transcripts undergo complex alternative splicing, producing diverse isoforms.
Diseases associated with CD44 dysfunction include superficial keratitis and lichen sclerosus, and CD44 may be related to tumor metastasis formation.
