Target Information
BAF53A는 actin-related proteins (ARPs) 계열의 단백질로, conventional actin과 높은 아미노산 서열 유사성을 가집니다.
ARPs는 ATP 결합 홈(actin fold)을 가지며, 소포 수송, 방추체 정렬, 핵 이동, 염색질 재구성 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
BAF53A는 포유류의 BAF (BRG1/brm-associated factor) 복합체의 53 kDa 소단위로, 효모와 초파리의 SWI/SNF 복합체와 기능적으로 유사합니다.
이 복합체는 염색질 매개 전사 억제를 상쇄하여 특정 유전자의 전사 활성화를 촉진하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
또한 β-actin과 함께 BRG1의 ATPase 활성을 극대화하고, BAF 복합체의 염색질/기질 결합에 필요합니다.
세 가지 전사 변이가 보고되었으며, 두 가지 단백질 아이소폼을 암호화합니다.
