Target Information
MINA is a nuclear-localized, myc-inducible protein involved in mammalian cell proliferation. Knockdown of MINA in cancer cell lines such as SW680 inhibits cell growth, suggesting MINA as a potential therapeutic target. It regulates genes associated with cell adhesion and metabolism, including c-Myc–regulated genes, and others such as EGFR, IL-6, and HGF. MINA also represses IL-4 expression in T cells, indicating a role in T cell differentiation and Th2 bias.
