Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The SF3A1 gene encodes subunit 1 of the splicing factor 3a protein complex, which includes subunits 1, 2, and 3. This complex is essential for converting 15S U2 snRNP into an active 17S particle that performs pre-mRNA splicing.
Subunit 1 belongs to the SURP protein family, characterized by SURP motifs that mediate RNA binding. It contains tandemly repeated SURP motifs in the N-terminal half and a proline-rich region with a ubiquitin-like domain in the C-terminal half.
Binding studies show that SURP motifs are required for interaction with subunit 3, while contacts with subunit 2 occur through sequences C-terminal to the SURP motifs.
Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
