Target Information
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are a family of membrane proteins with seven transmembrane domains that mediate extracellular signal transduction through heterotrimeric G proteins.
GPR43 (also known as FFAR2) belongs to the carboxylic acid subfamily and is primarily expressed in immune cells such as monocytes and neutrophils. An expressed sequence tag (EST) has been isolated from a human pancreatic library.
