Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Specificity of this antibody: GABBR1.
Target Information
Receptor for GABA. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G-proteins that inhibit adenylyl cyclase activity, stimulate phospholipase A2, activate potassium channels, inactivate voltage-dependent calcium channels, and modulate inositol phospholipid hydrolysis.
It plays a critical role in fine-tuning inhibitory synaptic transmission.
Presynaptic GABA-B receptors inhibit neurotransmitter release by down-regulating high-voltage-activated calcium channels, while postsynaptic GABA-B receptors decrease neuronal excitability by activating inwardly rectifying potassium (Kir) channels responsible for late inhibitory postsynaptic potentials.
This receptor is implicated in synaptic inhibition, hippocampal long-term potentiation, slow-wave sleep, muscle relaxation, and antinociception.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
