Target Information
NEK2는 세포주기 조절에 관여하며 염색체의 정확한 분리를 위해 필수적인 단백질입니다. 이 단백질은 세린/트레오닌 단백질 키나아제로, 유사분열 조절에 중요한 역할을 하며 주로 중심체(centrosome)에 위치합니다. G1기에는 검출되지 않지만 S기 동안 점차 증가하여 G2기 후기에 최고 수준에 도달합니다. NEK2 유전자는 여러 가지 스플라이싱 변이체를 가지며, 각각의 변이는 C-말단이 다른 이소폼을 생성합니다. 또한 NEK2는 망막색소변성증 67(Retinitis Pigmentosa 67) 등의 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
