TAOK1 (Thousand And One Amino Acid Kinase 1)는 serine/threonine-protein kinase로서 p38 MAP kinase 및 ERK kinase (MEK) 경로 조절에 관여합니다. MEK3와의 결합 및 활성화를 통해 p38 MAPK 스트레스 반응 경로의 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
TAOK1은 미세소관 친화 조절 키나아제로서 세포 분열 과정 중 염색체 정렬 및 분열 지연 조절에 필수적입니다. 또한 DNA 손상 반응, 세포골격 안정성 유지, 세포자멸사 조절 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다.
주요 기질로 MAP2K3, MAP2K6, MARK2 등을 인산화하며, G단백질 연결 수용체 신호를 p38/MAPK14 경로로 전달하는 데 관여합니다.
