Influenza A와 B는 사람에게 유행성 질병을 일으키는 두 가지 인플루엔자 바이러스 유형입니다. 현재 순환 중인 Influenza B 바이러스는 항원적·유전적으로 구별되는 Victoria 및 Yamagata 계통으로 나뉩니다. Influenza virus B는 Orthomyxoviridae과에 속하는 바이러스 속(genus)으로, 제한된 숙주 범위를 가지므로 팬데믹 발생은 드뭅니다. 핵단백질은 음성 가닥 바이러스 RNA를 캡시드화하여 뉴클레이즈로부터 보호하며, 캡시드화된 RNA는 리보핵단백질(RNP)로 불리며 전사 및 복제의 주형으로 작용합니다.
