Product Specific Information

  • This antibody does not react with Mouse or Rat.
  • For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1 / CD29) is a 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein broadly expressed across various cell types, including all leukocytes.

  • Forms non-covalently linked heterodimers with at least six different alpha chains (α1–α6, CDa–f), determining the binding properties of beta1 (VLA) integrins.
  • Functions as a cell adhesion molecule on platelets and as part of complexes binding extracellular matrix proteins.
  • Decreased ITGB1 expression correlates with multidrug resistance in tumor cells.
  • Upregulated during leukocyte emigration and migration, playing a key role in immune cell trafficking.
  • Regulates tissue damage and inflammatory disease processes, including inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Fibronectin and type I collagen enhance cytokine secretion in human airway smooth muscle via ITGB1-dependent mechanisms.
  • Two major isoforms: beta1A (ubiquitous except cardiac/skeletal muscle) and beta1D (muscle-specific).
