Target Information
Presenilin 1은 초기 발병형 알츠하이머병과 관련된 주요 단백질로, PEN2, nicastrin, APH-1과 함께 γ-secretase 복합체를 형성합니다. 이 복합체는 막 내 아스파르틸 프로테아제로서, 세포막 수용체에서 신호 전달에 중요한 역할을 하며, 알츠하이머병 병리의 중심인 신경독성 아밀로이드 펩타이드 생성에 관여합니다. APP 단백질을 절단하여 비독성 p3 펩타이드 또는 독성 Abeta 펩타이드를 생성하며, Abeta 축적이 알츠하이머병의 주요 원인으로 알려져 있습니다. Presenilin 1은 여러 동형이 존재합니다.
