Target Information
KRT16은 keratin 유전자 패밀리에 속하는 단백질로, epithelial 세포의 구조적 안정성을 유지하는 중간 필라멘트 단백질입니다. Cytokeratin 및 hair keratin으로 구분되며, type I cytokeratin은 산성 단백질로 구성되어 있습니다. 이 단백질은 식도, 혀, 모낭 등 여러 상피 조직에서 keratin 14와 함께 발현됩니다. 해당 유전자의 돌연변이는 type 1 pachyonychia congenita, non-epidermolytic palmoplantar keratoderma, unilateral palmoplantar verrucous nevus와 관련이 있습니다.
