Target Information
NEK2 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in cell cycle regulation and faithful chromosome segregation. It is primarily localized in the centrosome and shows cell cycle-dependent expression—undetectable in G1, increasing through S phase, and peaking in late G2.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encode distinct isoforms with different C-termini.
NEK2 is associated with diseases such as Retinitis Pigmentosa 67 and Retinitis Pigmentosa.
