CPA1(Carboxypeptidase A1)는 419개의 아미노산으로 구성된 단일체 분비 단백질로, 주로 췌장에서 발현됩니다.
이 효소는 아연을 보조 인자로 사용하여 다양한 단백질의 C-말단 아미노산을 절단함으로써 단백질 소화 및 분해에 관여합니다.
CPA1은 또한 프로엔자임 활성화 경로를 억제하는 기능을 가지며, 비정상적인 CPA1 발현은 췌장암과 관련이 있어 종양 진행 또는 억제에 역할을 할 수 있습니다.
