Target Information
In mice, CD4+ helper T-cells differentiate into type 1 (Th1) and type 2 (Th2) cells, which are critical for cell-mediated and antibody-mediated immunity, respectively. Th1 differentiation is mainly influenced by IL-12, while IL-4 promotes Th2 differentiation. Mice deficient in these cytokines, their receptors, or associated transcription factors exhibit impaired Th1 or Th2 responses.
The IL27RA gene encodes a protein similar to the mouse T-cell cytokine receptor Tccr at the amino acid level and is predicted to be a glycosylated transmembrane protein.
Diseases associated with IL27RA include Hyper IgE Recurrent Infection Syndrome 4 and Crisponi/Cold-Induced Sweating Syndrome 2.
