Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The tumor suppressor protein p53 is a sequence-specific transcription factor activated by cellular stress. It mediates cell cycle arrest or apoptosis in response to DNA damage or nucleotide starvation.
p53 upregulates stress response genes such as p21waf1, contributing to G1 or G2/M arrest. Structurally, it includes an N-terminal transactivation domain, a central DNA-binding domain, an oligomerisation domain, and a C-terminal regulatory domain.
Phosphorylation at Ser15 is crucial for activation and stabilization, while Ser392 phosphorylation is associated with tumor formation.
p53 plays roles in aging, oxidative stress, and memory-related processes. Normally expressed at low levels, p53 is highly expressed in transformed cell lines, contributing to malignancy.
Mutations in TP53 lead to loss of tumor suppressor function and are common in human cancers, including germline mutations in Li-Fraumeni syndrome.
