Target Information
AARS2는 class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase 계열에 속하는 단백질로, mRNA 번역 과정에서 tRNA에 해당 아미노산을 결합시키는 역할을 합니다. 이 단백질은 미토콘드리아 내에서 alanyl-tRNA를 특이적으로 aminoacyl화하는 효소이며, 돌연변이는 oxidative phosphorylation deficiency 8을 유발할 수 있습니다.
또한 ATP를 이용해 alanine을 활성화한 후 tRNA(Ala)에 전달하며, 잘못 결합된 tRNA(Ala)를 교정하는 기능도 수행합니다.
