The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
AMPK Beta 2 is a regulatory subunit of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a heterotrimer consisting of an alpha catalytic subunit and non-catalytic beta and gamma subunits. It acts as an energy-sensing enzyme that monitors cellular energy status. Upon activation under metabolic stress, AMPK phosphorylates and inactivates acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) and HMG-CoA reductase (HMGCR), key enzymes in fatty acid and cholesterol biosynthesis. AMPK Beta 2 may positively regulate AMPK activity and influence enzyme activity and localization through myristoylation and phosphorylation. It may also serve as an adaptor molecule mediating AMPK complex association.
