Target Information
Interferon-activable protein 204 belongs to the HIN-200 family, which contains one DAPIN domain and two HIN-200 domains. It inhibits transcription of ribosomal RNA and acts as a multifunctional regulator of cell proliferation and differentiation.
It functions as a transcriptional coactivator of Cbfa1 (Core binding factor alpha-1) to enhance osteoblast differentiation.
Ifi204 enables skeletal muscle and cardiac myocyte differentiation by sequestering Id proteins in the cytosol and promoting their ubiquitination and degradation.
It is transcriptionally activated in response to M-CSF and is involved in macrophage differentiation in myeloid progenitor cells.
