Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with non-human primate, human, porcine, and rabbit based on sequence homology.
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as a ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generates a ~25 kDa light chain band and a ~50 kDa heavy chain band.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
ACTH (Adrenocorticotropic Hormone) plays a major role in stimulating the adrenal cortex. It is formed through cleavage of the precursor proopiomelanocortin (POMC), which also produces MSH and beta endorphin.
ACTH is secreted by the anterior pituitary in response to corticotropin-releasing hormone from the hypothalamus. It stimulates glucocorticoid (e.g., cortisol) secretion but has limited effect on mineralocorticoid (e.g., aldosterone) production.
