Target Information
MAP2K4 (MEK4) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the STE7 family. It phosphorylates and activates JNK1/2 and p38, preferentially targeting the tyrosine residues of JNKs.
MAP2K4 mediates various physiological and pathophysiological processes, including responses to cellular stress and inflammatory cytokines.
Loss-of-function mutations in MAP2K4 have been identified in lung and pancreatic tumors, while other studies suggest a pro-oncogenic role.
