This antibody is directed against human STAT2 pY690 protein.
A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with STAT2 pY690 protein from human, rat (73%), and mouse (76%) based on sequence homology.
Reactivity against homologues from other species is not known.
Target Information
STAT2 is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases and form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus to act as transcription activators.
Upon interferon (IFN) stimulation, STAT2 forms a complex with STAT1 and IFN regulatory factor p48 (ISGF3G), functioning as a transactivator without direct DNA binding.
Transcription adaptor P300/CBP (EP300/CREBBP) interacts specifically with STAT2 and is implicated in blocking the IFN-alpha response by adenovirus.
