Target Information
Peroxiredoxin (Prx)는 세포 증식, 분화, 세포사멸과 관련된 퍼옥시다아제 계열 단백질입니다. 약 50여 종의 동형 단백질이 존재하며, 아미노산 서열 및 활성 부위 시스테인 잔기를 기준으로 분류됩니다.
포유류 Prx는 6가지 멤버로 구성되며, 일반적인 2-Cys, 비정형 2-Cys, 1-Cys Prx로 구분됩니다.
1-Cys Prx 하위군에 속하는 Prx VI를 제외한 나머지 5종은 thioredoxin, thioredoxin reductase, NADPH를 이용하는 thioredoxin-dependent peroxidase(TPx) 활성을 가집니다.
포유류 Prx 단백질은 약 20–30 kDa 크기이며, 세포 내 위치는 다양합니다.
