Target Information

Members of the LDL receptor gene family, including LDLR, LRP1, Megalin (GP330), VLDLR, and ApoER2, are characterized by cysteine-rich class A repeats, EGF-like repeats, YWTD repeats, and an O-linked sugar domain.
LRP12 (also designated ST7) is a member of this family, involved in internalization of lipophilic molecules and/or signal transduction. It interacts with RACK1, MADHIP, and Integrin beta-1-binding protein 3, and is widely expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, brain, lung, placenta, and pancreas. Overexpression may be associated with oral tumors, suggesting a potential oncogenic role.
