beta-3 Adrenergic Receptor (ADRB3) is primarily located in adipose tissue and plays a key role in regulating lipolysis and thermogenesis.
Beta adrenergic receptors mediate epinephrine and norepinephrine-induced activation of adenylate cyclase via G proteins.
Expression of beta-3 Adrenergic Receptor has been observed in adipose tissues, heart, and smooth muscles of digestive and urinary tract organs (bladder, colon, small intestine, stomach, ureter).
Alternative promoters and/or 3′ untranslated regions may contribute to tissue-specific regulation of expression.
