Target Information
IGFBP3 is a member of the insulin-like growth factor binding protein (IGFBP) family. It encodes a protein containing both an IGFBP domain and a thyroglobulin type-I domain. The protein forms a ternary complex with insulin-like growth factor acid-labile subunit (IGFALS) and either IGF I or II, circulating in plasma to prolong IGF half-life and modulate receptor interactions. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternate transcriptional splice variants.
Diseases associated with IGFBP3 include Insulin-Like Growth Factor I and Acid-Labile Subunit Deficiency.
