Target Information
TAS2R38은 쓴맛 인식에 관여하는 수용체로, gustducin과 연관되어 있습니다. 위장관 내용물의 화학적 조성을 감지하는 역할을 할 수 있습니다. 이 수용체의 활성은 alpha gustducin을 자극하고 PLC-beta-2를 활성화하여 TRPM5의 개방을 유도할 수 있습니다. 혀의 미각 수용 세포 중 gustducin-양성 세포에서 발현됩니다.
TAS2R38의 변이는 phenylthiocarbamide(PTC) 맛 인식 능력과 관련이 있으며, 이는 유전적으로 조절됩니다. 일부 사람과 침팬지는 PTC를 매우 쓴맛으로 느끼며, 다른 이들은 무미로 인식합니다. 인간 내에서 미각 민감도는 다양하게 나타납니다. TAS2R38 유전자 내 세 개의 코딩 SNP에서 유래한 다섯 가지 하플로타입이 PTC 맛 민감도의 다양한 표현형과 관련되어 있습니다.
