Target Information
Claudin 1–8 proteins are transmembrane components of tight junctions, specialized regions of cell-to-cell contact that regulate ion and water permeability and maintain epithelial polarity.
Differential Claudin expression is observed across tissues and malignancies such as breast, ovarian, hepatic, urinary, prostate, lung, head and neck, and thyroid cancers.
Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
