이 효소는 세포 신호전달 경로에서 중요한 역할을 하며, 분비, 세포 증식, 분화, 이동 조절에 관여합니다. 또한 beta-globin 유전자 발현 조절 및 Hb H 수준과 관련된 alpha-thalassemia 환자 연구에도 연관이 있습니다.
