Target Information

HTR2B is a G-protein coupled receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin). It acts as a receptor for various ergot alkaloid derivatives and psychoactive substances. Ligand binding induces conformational changes that trigger signaling via G proteins and modulate downstream effectors.
HTR2B plays roles in pain perception and behavioral regulation, and is required for normal proliferation of embryonic cardiac myocytes and heart development.
