Human alanyl-tRNA synthetase (AARS)는 class II tRNA synthetase 계열에 속하며, 진화 초기에 형성되어 높은 보존성을 보입니다. 인간 AARS의 968 아미노산 중 498개 잔기가 E. coli 단백질과 41%의 서열 동일성을 공유합니다.
tRNA synthetase는 RNA 코드를 해석하여 특정 아미노산을 해당 tRNA에 결합시키는 효소로, 아미노산 수용체 부위와 tRNA 구조 전체와 상호작용하는 두 개의 주요 도메인을 포함합니다.
