Human alanyl-tRNA synthetase (AARS)는 class II tRNA synthetase 계열의 효소로, 진화 초기에 형성되어 높은 보존성을 보입니다. 인간 AARS는 968개 아미노산 잔기로 구성된 폴리펩타이드로, E. coli 단백질과 약 41%의 서열 동일성을 가집니다.
tRNA synthetase는 RNA 코드를 해석하여 특정 아미노산을 해당 tRNA의 anticodon에 맞게 결합시키는 효소입니다. 이 효소는 아미노산 수용체 부위와 상호작용하는 촉매 도메인과 tRNA 구조의 나머지 부분과 상호작용하는 보조 도메인을 포함합니다.
