Target Information
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are a subfamily within the TGF-beta superfamily of signaling proteins. BMP-10 plays a crucial role in embryonic heart development by stimulating and maintaining cardiomyocyte proliferation. It signals through receptor complexes including BMPR-1A, BMPR-1B, ALK1, ALK3, and ALK6, inducing SMAD-dependent and SMAD-independent pathways. BMP-10 is structurally related to BMP-9, and both can inhibit endothelial cell proliferation and migration.
