Antibody detects endogenous levels of IL-2RA/CD25 only when phosphorylated at Ser268.

Target Information

CD25 (IL2 receptor alpha chain / IL2RA) is a cytokine receptor involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation. The IL2RA forms part of a heterotrimeric complex with IL2RB and IL2RG, constituting the high-affinity IL2 receptor. Homodimeric IL2RA chains result in low-affinity receptors, while IL2RB homodimers produce medium-affinity receptors.
IL2 expression in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, controlling precise gene expression. IL2, produced mainly by mature T cells, acts as a growth and differentiation factor and regulates cell death. It stimulates B cell proliferation, enhances NK cell activity, and inhibits granulocyte macrophage colony formation.
Disruption of the IL2RA gene in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, suggesting a role in immune response regulation. Mutations in this gene are associated with interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency.
