Product Specific Information

The eBioCB16 monoclonal antibody recognizes CD16 (Fc gammaRIII), the low-affinity receptor for IgG (50–80 kDa).
CD16 includes two genes:

• CD16A (FcγRIIIA): Expressed on macrophages and NK cells, peptide-anchored form
• CD16B (FcγRIIIB): Expressed on neutrophils, GPI-anchored monomeric form

Two polymorphisms of CD16B (NA-1, NA-2) exist; NA-2 homozygotes show lower phagocytic capacity.
CD16 binds IgG immune complexes, preferentially IgG1 and IgG3, initiating ADCC, phagocytosis, degranulation, and proliferation.

• Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.25 µg)/test
  • Each test stains cells in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)

  • Neutrophils (PI-anchored form via FCGR3B)
• Clinical Relevance: Associated with Immunodeficiency 20, Herpes Zoster, and susceptibility to lupus and recurrent viral infections.
• Variants: Alternative splicing yields multiple isoforms.
