Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members show periodic changes in protein abundance during the cell cycle. Cyclins regulate CDK kinases and exhibit distinct expression and degradation patterns that coordinate mitotic events. Cyclin H forms a complex with CDK7 kinase and ring finger protein MAT1, functioning as a CDK-activating kinase (CAK). This complex is part of TFIIH and RNA polymerase II complexes, linking transcriptional regulation and cell cycle control.
