This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
The Complement C5 protein is the fifth component of the complement system, crucial for inflammatory and cell-killing processes. It consists of alpha and beta chains linked by a disulfide bridge. The activation peptide C5a, an anaphylatoxin with potent spasmogenic and chemotactic activity, is derived from the alpha chain via cleavage. The C5b fragment forms a complex with C6, initiating the membrane attack complex formation with other complement components.
Mutations in the C5 gene can cause complement component 5 deficiency, leading to severe recurrent infections. Defects are also associated with susceptibility to liver fibrosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
