AKT1 (PKB alpha)는 세포 생존을 조절하는 serine/threonine kinase입니다. 활성화된 효소는 apoptosis를 억제하고 세포 주기 진행을 촉진하며, 다양한 세포 유형(특히 암세포)에서 여러 표적을 인산화합니다. 인슐린, PI3K, IGF1 등의 성장 인자에 의해 활성화되며, apoptosis 억제를 위해 forkhead 전사 인자 및 caspase-9 등을 인산화하여 비활성화합니다. AKT 경로는 암 치료제 개발의 주요 표적입니다.
