PPM1B 단백질은 PP2C family에 속하는 Ser/Thr protein phosphatase로, 세포 스트레스 반응 경로의 음성 조절자로 알려져 있습니다.
이 인산화효소는 cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs)를 탈인산화하며, 세포주기 조절에 관여할 수 있습니다.
PPM1B 과발현 시 세포 성장 억제 또는 세포 사멸이 유도된다는 보고가 있으며, 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 여러 전사체 변이가 생성됩니다.
