This antibody has specificity for Dengue virus (DENV) type 2, strain New Guinea C NS1.
Target Information
Dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever are acute febrile diseases found in tropical regions and Africa. They are caused by one of four virus serotypes of the genus Flavivirus, family Flaviviridae. Each serotype is sufficiently distinct that no cross-protection occurs, allowing epidemics with multiple serotypes (hyperendemicity).
Transmission occurs via Aedes aegypti (rarely Aedes albopictus) mosquitoes, which feed during the day.
