Target Information
The CCL27 gene is part of the CC cytokine family located on the p-arm of chromosome 9. CC cytokines are secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes, characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The protein encoded by this gene is chemotactic for skin-associated memory T lymphocytes and may mediate lymphocyte homing to cutaneous sites. It specifically binds to chemokine receptor 10 (CCR10). Studies in murine models suggest these interactions play a key role in T cell-mediated skin inflammation.
