Target Information
The SIRT2 protein (Sirtuin 2) is a NAD-dependent deacetylase (NDAC) involved in gene silencing, cell cycle regulation, and DNA damage repair. It may act as a tumor suppressor in human gliomas and serve as a molecular marker for these cells. SIRT2 also functions as a redox sensor regulating muscle gene expression in response to food intake and exercise. It participates in the phosphorylation cascade of mitosis, being phosphorylated in late G2 phase, M phase, and cytokinesis.
