Description:
The 8D4-8 antibody reacts with human interleukin-4 (IL-4), a 15–19 kDa cytokine secreted by Th2 cells.
Applications Reported:
This antibody has been reported for use in intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested for intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended use: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test. A test is defined as the amount of antibody staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume. Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.
Excitation/Emission:
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 519 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells, acting as a ligand for the IL-4 receptor. IL-4 has broad immunoregulatory functions and shares overlapping activity with IL-13. STAT6 mediates IL-4 signaling, and the IL-4 gene is located on chromosome 5q within a cytokine gene cluster alongside IL-3, IL-5, IL-13, and CSF2. IL-4 delta 2 is a known splice variant.
