OBFC2B는 SOSS 복합체의 구성 요소로, MRN 복합체 하류에서 DNA 복구와 G2/M 체크포인트를 촉진하는 역할을 합니다. SOSS 복합체 내에서 단일가닥 DNA의 센서로 작용하며, 특히 폴리피리미딘 서열에 결합합니다. 이 복합체는 DNA 손상 부위에 결합하여 세포의 DNA 손상 반응에서 세포 주기 체크포인트 활성화, 재조합 복구, 유전체 안정성 유지 등 다양한 기능에 관여합니다. 또한, 이중가닥 절단(DSB)의 상동 재조합 의존적 복구 및 ATM 의존 신호 경로에 필수적입니다.
