For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Estrogen Receptors (ER) belong to the steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily of nuclear receptors.
The estrogen receptor acts as a ligand-activated transcription factor that, upon estrogen binding, undergoes conformational changes enabling dimerization and binding to estrogen response elements (ERE) in DNA.
ER regulates gene transcription through coactivator or corepressor protein recruitment.
There are two receptor forms, alpha (ESR1) and beta (ESR2), encoded by separate genes.
At least four ESR1 isoforms exist (66 kDa, 53 kDa, 47 kDa, 35 kDa) due to alternative RNA splicing.
ERs are widely expressed and play crucial roles in sexual development, reproductive function, bone physiology, and pathological processes such as breast and endometrial cancers, and osteoporosis.
