Target Information
ADH5 유전자는 alcohol dehydrogenase 계열 단백질을 암호화하며, ethanol, retinol, hydroxysteroids 등 다양한 기질을 대사합니다. 이 단백질은 homodimer 형태로 존재하며, ethanol 산화 활성은 거의 없지만 장쇄 1차 알코올 및 S-hydroxymethyl-glutathione 산화에 높은 활성을 보입니다. Formaldehyde 제거에 중요한 역할을 하며, 인체 내 여러 비전사성 유사유전자가 존재합니다.
