Target Information
CD127 (Interleukin-7 receptor, IL7R) is a glycoprotein involved in the regulation of lymphopoiesis. The active IL7R receptor is an alpha/gamma chain heterodimer, where the gamma(c) chain activates signal transduction and the alpha chain determines specific signaling events. CD127 promotes proliferation of precursor B cells, thymocytes, T cell progenitors, and mature CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. Dysfunctions in CD127 are associated with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) and related immune disorders.
