Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of AS160 only when phosphorylated at Ser341.
Target Information
AS160 (TBC1D4) is a GTPase-activating protein for RAB2A, RAB8A, RAB10, and RAB14. The isoform 2 variant promotes insulin-induced translocation of the glucose transporter SLC2A4/GLUT4 to the plasma membrane, enhancing glucose uptake. Mutations in this gene are associated with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus type 5 (NIDDM5).
