FOXO4는 O class winged helix/forkhead 전사인자 패밀리의 구성원으로, 성장 및 분화 조절 인자에 의해 조절됩니다. X 염색체의 FOXO4 유전자와 11번 염색체의 trithorax 유전자 간 전좌는 백혈병과 관련이 있습니다. 다양한 전사체 변이체가 보고되어 있으며, 서로 다른 단백질 아이소폼을 생성합니다.
