Target Information
The hnRNP F gene belongs to the subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). These RNA-binding proteins form complexes with heterogeneous nuclear RNA and are involved in pre-mRNA processing, including alternative splicing and polyadenylation. hnRNP F contains three quasi-RRM domains that bind guanosine-rich RNA sequences and is similar to hnRPH. Multiple alternatively spliced variants encoding the same protein have been identified. Some hnRNPs shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm.
